Political language -- and with variations this is true of all political parties, from Conservatives to Anarchists -- is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.
In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act.
If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face - forever.
But if thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought.
Sometimes the first duty of intelligent men is the restatement of the obvious.
Whatever is funny is subversive, every joke is ultimately a custard pie... a dirty joke is a sort of mental rebellion.
In our age there is no such thing as 'keeping out of politics.' All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, folly, hatred and schizophrenia.
All political thinking for years past has been vitiated in the same way. People can foresee the future only when it coincides with their own wishes, and the most grossly obvious facts can be ignored when they are unwelcome.
At fifty everyone has the face he deserves.
Most people get a fair amount of fun out of their lives, but on balance life is suffering, and only the very young or the very foolish imagine otherwise.
John Stuart Mill
Conservatives are not necessarily stupid, but most stupid people are conservatives.
The amount of eccentricity in a society has generally been proportional to the amount of genius, mental vigor, and moral courage it contained. That so few now dare to be eccentric marks the chief danger of the time.
The general tendency of things throughout the world is to render mediocrity the ascendant power among mankind.
Whatever crushes individuality is despotism, by whatever name it may be called and whether it professes to be enforcing the will of God or the injunctions of men.
A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

A classic is something that everybody wants to have read and nobody wants to read.
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

The Public is merely a multiplied "me."
Only kings, presidents, editors, and people with tapeworms have the right to use the editorial "we."

Never hold discussions with the monkey when the organ grinder is in the room.
Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things.
However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.
In war as in life, it is often necessary when some cherished scheme has failed, to take up the best alternative open, and if so, it is folly not to work for it with all your might.

When you want to fool the world, tell the truth.
I have seen three emperors in their nakedness, and the sight was not inspiring.
Never believe anything in politics until it has been officially denied.

to be Cow's Ghost and Snake's Spirit
By Mary Desmond
For those who post for absolution, confession and contrition may lessen your shame but there can be no absolution without satisfaction. Perhaps you post because you serve the Truth and therefore words are your tools and there are rules on how it may be presented. If this is the world of the spirits I care little for it. I can travel everywhere be in many places at once. But I would rather be a slave in Kuwait then King in this world. I remember once naked in the arms of my love, was it anger or outrage it was so fierce. What do you want from me. But I want what every man wants. To love so desperately person and ideal, to sacrifice the one for the other, so when she weeps her arms around my dead body, with cursing whispers why did you not defend, and drives her sword through both our hearts in death's embrace, saying now we can go home, when now we have lost all and can have nothing. For one moment as the sun sets to look beautiful together. I said nothing because I assumed it was a rhetorical questionWhen I hear the word Polemic, I see pi omecron lamda episilon (the naked e) iota the difference between docetism and is it the Athanasian heresy kappa and a first declension ending. I hear the speech Thucydides gives to the men of marathon, this is why we fight, this is why we die and the battle cry that day was Freedom. And across the world this same polemic two characters, ideograms, more than letters written in the sand, they mean it seems Our Land. But how does that appear to one who understands ideograms. The signifier is not dead said My Lord it is only sleeping, Talitha Kumi. Because an ideogram is sacramental imbued with mystery beckoning and drawing those with the key deeper. Words are signifiers many to many relationships. Those who seek to publish the truth would fare better with poetry for a word is more than a sign, more than a symbol.
So is this world real, this worldwideweb. If you say yes then you are condemned forever to wander drifting past illusions. And if you say No, then you will never be able to pierce the veil of Maya. Sometimes the overt pomposity, the belief that taking yourself overly seriously is a sign of a serious person, the lack of an ability to feel shame discombobulates. What are you trying to do here. I first posted with Why do men of Goodwill hate americans. It was too ambitious.
During the cultural revolution doctors, lecturers, anyone with a foreign degree was termed a cow's ghost and a snake's spirit, these are ancient demons that take the form of men for our ruin, they were kept in barns and treated like the animals that they were. I am he. I am Mary, like Savonarola, Tuck, Francis, Dominic, disreputable ne'erdowells that should be consigned to cowsheds.
But when I saw two lovers who would not speak to each other for three years and their last night he screams from his depth, I have no place in my heart for you. And she seeks him and slays him. What fools we have been. And the same lovers both live and survive like Romeo and Juliet, and at the same time the same lovers only one lives promising to live well when the other dies, twice but which one, and I have seen a country that knows like Parmenides and Kundera that the man slaughtered like an assassin must be buried as a hero. I pray I live long enough to see that Empire take its place upon the earth. They are not Chinese. They are like us. Do not fret americans we despise you and we love you perhaps you ask how this is possible. We do not know but we feel it and it is like being placed on a rack, the latin is more memorable
"Netpolitik is a new style of diplomacy that seeks to exploit the powerful capabilities of the Internet to shape politics, culture, values, and personal identity. But unlike Realpolitik — which seeks to advance a nation’s political interests through amoral coercion — Netpolitik traffics in “softer” issues such as moral legitimacy, culturalidentity, societal values, and public perception." - The Rise of Netpolitik
